Grudges

The other night Daniel was really fighting going to bed, it was finally late enough that it was past my bedtime, so in frustration I herded him back into his room (again) turned his light out (again) and made him get on his bed (again). Then I laid down next to him with a pillow on the floor, enforcing bedtime.

Apparently he had been playing with a rubber bouncy ball earlier and now he wanted it in bed with him. He likes to sleep with all his toys for some reason. (We've had to take most of his toys and books out of his room for this reason). But this time I made him get on his bed before he could grab his ball and because I was so tired and frustrated I wouldn't let him have it. It's not playtime it's bedtime! You just can't reason with a 2 year old.

Anyway, he threw a fit and cried for almost 30 minutes and kept saying "my bouncy ball, my bouncy ball, my bouncy ball..." over and over like a broken record. He finally wore himself out and fell asleep.

The next morning he came into the kitchen, looked at me with a still sleepy but pouty face and declared "My bouncy ball!" I couldn't believe it, my little boy holds grudges.

Heidi says he takes after my side of the family, I don't know what she's talking about. :)
