Trip to Idaho and Bear World

While in UT, we decided to head up to ID to visit my good friend from BYUH days. We had a great time hanging out with Corban, Peyton, Shyanne and Josh. Daniel was in heaven having to friends to play with. They had a nice big front and backyard where you could just let the kids run and play. We also went to bear world- and had a blast seeing bears up close and personal. Here are some pics from our trip:

Daniel was thrilled with all the rides, they had a train, a turning bear ride and a car ride. The boys spent most of the time rotating between these rides having a blast.

We splurged and payed to do the curator tour where you get to ride in an open truck and feed the bears. It was lots of fun. Rylie tried to crawl out the entire time trying to cuddle with the bears. It took a lot of effort to keep her in. The bears came right up to the truck- it was really neat to see them so close.

Here is Daniel at Shy's place. He just became potty trained, so thus the beautiful crack shot. We also enjoyed a night around the campfire where we enjoyed Smores. Nummy!

Trip to Utah

Starting July 3rd-- Rylie, Daniel and I (Heidi) headed up to UT for a long vacation from the intense heat of AZ and to see my family. It was so fun to get away and to hang out with Opa, Grammy, Oma, Uncles, Aunts and cousins. Daniel was in heaven. Unfortunately my camera broke somewhere in the middle, so not many pictures were taken. Highlights of the trip included UT lake for boating, game nights with family, seeing highschool and mission friends, swimming, etc... Lots of fun! Here are a few pictures of our adventures before the camera broke.

Rylie was amazing on the drive up and the drive down. She rarely fussed and seemed to finally enjoy driving!

It is always amazing to see the progress on the Hoover Dam bridge. It scares me to think that one day I will drive over it.

On the way up we met with my brother James and his family in Las Vegas. We went to a fun restaurant where Daniel got a balloon hat. Daniel was amazed by the super tall people.

Hands down, the favorite activity for both Rylie and Daniel was taking showers in the nice two headed shower at my dad's place. They would just laugh and giggle the entire time they were in here.

Daniel also loved being creative with all the new things at my dad's. This massager was a hit daily.

Here is a video of Daniel and Rylie playing in a splash pad with their cousins Palesa and Clyde. It was hilarious to see how excited Rylie and Daniel were-- they were everywhere loving being sprayed and getting wet. Palesa and Clyde on the other hand, hated anything to do with the water and stood on the sidelines for most of the time. Nothing fazes my kids.

Itunes DJ

It's the greatest thing. It automatically mixes your music for you, putting similar music together which is way better than just "random" mode. Today I was listening to my "soundtracks" category and for some reason it got stuck on playing these sad depressing songs.

It goes through various tracks from The Titanic, then plays In My Life from Les Miserables, then Why from Annie Lennox, Somebody Stand By Me - Stevie Nicks.. and my gosh you can't help but start to get a little choked up after a few songs.

Then Titanic again - "Take her to sea Mr Murdock" - sob sob

The problem is I'm at work and what am I supposed to do but lie if someone looks at me and asks what's wrong?

What!? What are you looking at? I'm chronically depressed ok? Move along!

Maybe it's time for some Van Halen.
