Daddio

When Daniel got up from his nap today he wanted one of the oranges we had on the counter. I mentioned that there was an orange already cut up in the fridge so instead of giving him the unpeeled orange on the counter Heidi tried to give him the orange slices from the fridge. Daniel didn't want that orange so he threw a fit and rolled around on the kitchen floor wailing. He even prostrated himself on the floor holding one arm up to mom as if to say "please, as my last dying wish, can you please spare just that one orange!" It was another dramatic performance, another camera moment.

After a few minutes of listening to that I decided to see if I could help so I went and picked him up and we went through some choices for snacks: apple, banana, cracker... when we got to the sliced oranges from the fridge he became happy and gladly accepted them. These are the same oranges that mom offered to him a few minutes earlier that caused him to throw a fit in the first place, the only difference is that I offered them to him instead of mom.

It's nice to feel appreciated, or maybe he realizes that with a girl on the way us guys need to stick together.
