Ok, yea that's a bit of a shock: the whole Daniel can get out of his crib now thing. Last night after he was put to bed he got out of his crib to come tell me that he had to go to the bathroom. I don't know what part of that to be more surprised at, him getting out of his crib on his own or him being potty trained or him waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom or all that at the same time. At 2:00am I'm thinking to myself, dude, you're wearing a diaper, just pee in your diaper like other normal kids. After I helped him go to the bathroom he went back to bed and promptly fell asleep. What's next?
Of course now I have all these parental protectiveness thoughts like what if he gets up during the middle of the night and gets into something that might hurt him. What if he walks out the front door? I'm sure I'm more worried than I need to be. We've at least put a gate up to block him from going downstairs. I guess we'll just keep watching and working with him to transition him or us into this new stage.
