Car!

Daniel asks to go in the car all the time. At first I thought he just liked to ride in the car but then one day at home when he was especially bored we realized that he was asking to go in the car because whenever he rides in the car he ends up someplace fun like his cousins house or the park. Daniel has associated going on a car ride as going to do something fun.

He gets into his broken record routine asking to go in the car constantly. It's still cute to hear him even if he sounds like a broken record because he still only speaks in one or two word sentences. Car. Car. Car. Car. Car - I'm bored, lets get out of here and go do something fun! He knows he has to wear his shoes when we leave the house so he will even go get his shoes and try to put them on, or bring them to me and say "help" holding his shoes out.

I helped him with his shoes once not really paying attention so it wasn't until he headed out to the garage in only a diaper and shoes that I realized what he was up to.

The only time I've ever heard him ask to go home is when we're at church. He will slowly worm his way out of the isle, past the "shifting legs" obstacle, and make a break for the exit door all the while saying Home! Home! Home!
