We are excited to have a new activity to share with visitors. This really was a fantastic cruise that showed how gorgeous AZ is. We even loved the narration from the captain and their music soundtrack was great.
Here is a little about the Dolly Steamboat:
Nestled in the heart of the Superstition Mountains lies spectacular Canyon Lake, home of the Dolly Steamboat. You will marvel as you travel up the historic Apache Trail with its unique rock formations and beautiful scenery. The Tonto National Forest provides the most awe-inspiring and sublimely beautiful panorama nature has ever created. Listen as your captain recounts the legends and lore’s of the mysterious Superstition Mountains and Arizona’s first historic highway, the Apache Trail.
Bring your camera and binoculars; bighorn sheep, coyote, deer, bobcats and mountain lions may all be seen, along with bald eagles, hawks, vultures and many other native avian species.
Continuing a tradition of cruising since 1925, the Dolly Steamboat now cruises the secluded inner waterways of spectacular Canyon Lake and is considered one of Arizona’s premier destinations. Every trip brings new revelations of rock formations, geological history and the flora and fauna distinct to the Sonoran Desert.
Explore a favorite destination of President Theodore Roosevelt, who declared “the Apache Trail and surrounding area combines the grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and then adds an indefinable something that none of the others have.”
