One day Daniel decided to use the potty all by himself. I was taking a shower and when I realized he wasn't where I thought he was I rushed downstairs and walked into this. (sorry it may not be the most appropriate of pictures, and it is quite disgusting, but I had to share)
Yesterday while I was eating and watching the top of his head over the couch I had the thought-- wouldn't that be funny if he was doing something horrible and here I am watching him thinking he is just watching a movie. So with that thought I told Daniel to turn around and this is what I saw.
I had accidentally left our Aquafor (a vaseline type lotion) on the couch after changing Rylie and he helped himself. The worst part is the stuff is impossible to get out-- so I got to wash Daniel's hair 3 times, spent almost an hour cleaning the couch and despite my best efforts, the signs of this day will always remain. What a stinker.
We have also realized that we are going to need additional child locks for our upper cabinets in the kitchen. I have been letting Daniel help me cook lately and now he is enthralled with our spices. I find him trying to get into the spice cabinet all the time (a few times he was faster than me and was able to make a beautiful mess before I got to him).
Lastly, Daniel has decided he is big enough for regular cups. He will find any that we accidentally left around and will rush to the fridge to fill it up. Luckily he is getting better at this and doesn't spill as often, but I do have to say our floors have been cleaner lately due to always having to clean up the water spills that he leaves behind.
You just have to love 2 year olds. As Darin said, "we need to enjoy this stage because this will probably be the last time he does horrible things in complete innocence." I do have to say he sure has a personality, keeps me on my toes and lights up my life!
We laugh about these pictures again and again. Lynn especially identifies with Daniel. I guess it is a Mom things with little boys.
